Let's Go Fly A Kite!

What a wonderful Saturday afternoon! The sun is finally shining and we took advantage of the Kansas winds and went to fly kites. Of course, you can't fly kites without singing a few choruses of "Let's Go Fly A Kite" from Mary Poppins. I may not be a magical nanny, but I can still create some wonder in my little one's eyes.

Thanks to Papa Mason for providing the kites!

Little boy flying a kite all by himself...

Chasing kite that little boy let go of and was swept away by the wind.

The kite traveled about a mile through a very muddy corn field before it crashed. We were all covered in mud by the time we located the run away kite. Somehow, I seem to end up covered in mud every weekend lately.

Ethan wanted to ride his bike from our house to my parent's home. It's probably a little over a 1/4 of a mile from our house to theirs. By the time we returned home, Ethan was good and worn out and ready for his afternoon nap.

It takes a lot of concentration to pump those pedals.

  1. I love the pictures. I like how the sky on the plains gets that deep blue color.
